During the current pandemic we are asked to quarantine but it’s hardly easy on us. It is equally an important time for self-care and relaxation. Most essentially, catch-up and make time for things one never could.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
Quarantine and Self-Isolation might lead to stress or anxiety, which is very normal. So it’s essential to divert your mind to things you love to do and connect with people/friends important to you. We all understand that this is a time of incredible anxiety and stress. Focusing on what makes us feel nourished, on what gives us meaning, is part of easing those feelings and giving us a more solid foundation.
Why Self-Care is important?
Switch to self-care habits or hobbies or passions that you weren’t able to devote time for, previously.
Self-care can include healthy practices that you find both enjoyable and that in some way promote your physical, emotional, spiritual, or mental well-being.

According to World Health Organization, self-care is a practice you inculcate in your routine in order to take care of your own health; including hygiene, nutrition, leisure activities, sports, exercise, seeking professional healthcare services when needed, and much more.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
Prioritize Sleep: A healthy 8 hours sleep lifts up a good Mood and Immune System.
Work out and stay active: Practice Home Yoga or a few quick sprints or lifting weights that will boost your adrenaline rush.
Try healthy eating: Avoid foods that are high on carbs, artificial ingredients, toxic chemicals. Switch to home cooked food; try new recipes and things to bake every day.
Practice positive Self-Talk and Thoughts: It’s the best time to know oneself better. Introspect about positive and strengths inwards.
Read or Write: Let your mind wander to an inquisitive cognitive world or let it spill on a piece of a paper.
Avoid bad media and social channels: Block out the clutter, negative noise and excessive news. It is better to choose a reliable single source.
Practice Mindful Listening: Good music, podcasts, stressbusting music or a motivational audio; all could be carefully chosen and consumed as a filtered mind food.
